44. Relationship changes that all women HATE

**stolen off of JD**

When you first started dating her, you were always clean shaven, you smelled good and you were polite in her presence. But now that you’re in it for the long haul, you might feel that you can skip the razor and let the occasional fart loose in her presence.

Often, when a relationship becomes long term, you start to get lazy. You stop doing the little things for her that you used to do, and you start doing new things that you wouldn't have dared to do when you first met her. Many of these relationship changes are natural, but some are also highly aggravating to women.

Below are six of the most irritating changes that occur in long-term relationships -- changes so grave that they might make her reevaluate your entire relationship. As you become more comfortable with her, feel free to be at ease, but be mindful not to commit any of the following relationship sins.

- You get lax with your personal appearance
Why she hates it: Now that you’re in for the long run, you might feel that you can loosen up on some of the hygienic duties that you stuck to before. Sure, you can be more casual around her now that you’ve been together for a while, but don’t forget that looking good, smelling fresh and keeping in shape all help keep the attraction alive. If you stop taking care of yourself, she’ll assume that you don’t care what she thinks about you. This will make her feel like you don’t care about her anymore.

- You start “letting go” around her
Why she hates it: Most couples reach a level of comfort in a long-term relationship where they don’t hesitate to unleash the occasional fart or burp around each other. Although she probably doesn’t mind this type of intimacy occasionally, if you consistently subject her to your bodily functions, she will start to dislike it, and her attraction may start to wane. She will feel like you see her as one of your boys instead of someone who is special to you.

- You start forgetting big dates like birthdays and anniversaries
Why she hates it: You used to make a big deal for her birthday, and now you barely remember to call her. From her perspective, this lack of consideration shows her that you are progressively putting less effort into the relationship and taking her for granted. Remember that taking her out to celebrate is a big way to keep the romance going.

- You stop complimenting her
Why she hates it: Do you notice when she changes her hairstyle or when she gets a new dress? Well, tell her. If you stop giving her compliments, she’ll feel that you’ve stopped noticing her altogether. A woman needs a certain amount of attention and positive feedback from her man. If she’s not getting it from you, she may start to look elsewhere for that attention, so don’t forget to remind her how hot she is.

- You get temperamental
Why she hates it: If you constantly get irritable when you used to control your temper around her, she’ll have good reason to get annoyed. Consider her perspective: She entered the relationship with a seemingly even-tempered guy, but he turns out to be an impatient, bad-tempered stress case. How fair is that?

-You don’t compromise
Why she hates it: You used to be happy to spend time with her family, but now you’re not as willing. Or maybe you used to put up with seeing the occasional romantic comedy and now you only want to watch action flicks. If you used to make compromises, but now you’re completely inflexible, you might want to reconsider your change of behavior. Of all the relationship changes women hate, this is probably the most serious offense. Women tend to be compromising by nature, and if your girlfriend doesn’t see you reciprocating, you might get thrown out the door.

avoid relationship apathy
One of the benefits of a long-term relationship is that you can finally loosen up and stop trying to impress her, but be careful not to go to the other extreme. If you avoid most of the above relationship pitfalls, you can rest assured that she won’t run in the other direction the next time you let one rip.
