71. New semester, new house, new everything

I'M BACK WITH A NEW POST! It's been so long since I've had time to properly blog!

Few things that happened within the last few weeks...

CNE!

I met some very cool people, learned a lot of new things and definitely soaked myself in a lot of sweat on hot days! Overall it was a fun experience doing something new and out of the ordinary. The 18 days that I was working there definitely taught me a lot. Although sometimes I feel bittersweet about the whole thing, I'm still glad to have worked at the CNE this summer! If anyone of you who saw me at CNE - you'd know that even on my days off, or when my shift was over I'd still be hanging out there. I have major attachment issues with CNE... LOL! Regardless, I wanna thank everyone for being so amazing! I still have yet to try Deep Fried Butter, I blame someone for that! *hmph* Much love to: Henry, Johnny, Cody, Eva, Sara, Annie, Bri, Raul, Sarah, Jason, Jonathan x2, Katherine, Bradley, Patrick, Alvin & more! ♥

Then immediately after work ended I moved the rest of my belongings down to Guelph and started my semester. It's been pretty hectic since - lots to prep for the restaurant course and also trying to balance everything from the VSA club to a temp job with the CSA to keeping track of my other courses! Although this is a good way to keep me on track, keep me busy so I don't end up going out a lot or spending on unnecessary stuff! On that note... yesterday I went to all you can eat sushi lunch with Julia, Dillon and their friend Brant. I haven't been back to W Sushi since the semester ended so I was a bit hesitant to go back having heard a few bad things about the quality since I first visited the restaurant. Nonetheless, service and quality remained the same since I last remembered, so for sure I'll be coming back again! :)

I didn't take too many pics of the food, but the rolls were delicious and tightly rolled - I recommend the spicy salmon roll & mango cheese roll! Also, the nigiri was made fresh and rice wasn't warm or falling apart! Try it out - for $12.99 the lunch menu is definitely worth it.

I have approximately 8 days left until I move back to Guelph (for good). This year I'm actually quite anxious to start classes and begin doing things differently. By that I mean I'm going to have new work habits, eat healthier, take care of myself more and of course maintain good grades. It doesn't sound like much but I'm determined to make a change - for the better. With that having said, I can't wait to go back to the gym. I've been paying for my Goodlife Membership but haven't gone more than twice this whole summer (what a waste!) so when I'm back I'll definitely be going more often :) I also plan to learn some new meals to cook this year so hopefully I'll have those recipes and photos up on this blog soon!

On Tuesday, my friend & I went to see "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World". I've been anticipating this movie for quite some time since the trailer really hyped up the storyline (boy meets girl, boy fights her 7 evil exes to be with her) AND it was filmed in Toronto! After having seen the movie I would say that it was definitely hilarious and lived up to it's hype. Amazing graphics, had a lot of hilarious jokes and I loved the subtly of some scenes and the storyline wasn't too bad - different I'd say. Check it out for yourself, it's a funny kind of stupid, not the bad lame kind of stupid (if that makes sense)!

67. It's won't be long.

Lately I've been busy with packing/getting ready to go back to Guelph I haven't been able to write a post (boo)! Honestly though, sometimes I just get lazy and don't even know what to say... haha. Here goes one of those random posts :)

The other day I was craving the milkshake/smoothie that they have at Pickle Barrel and decided to get my own ingredients and just make it. Tastes the same - but a bit thicker due to the amount of vanilla ice cream I put in. Here's what it looks like (made from my Magic Bullet)!

AND since my mom's been home from Vietnam (3 weeks ago ish) she's been making soooo much food for all of us! I've been gaining weight again :( but the food is delicious to say no! :)

The other day I decided to give my hair a new color. A while ago I had bought L'oreal Copper Blonde color and see whether it'd turn blonde or not. I've dyed my hair before but not professionally so I knew that it wouldn't turn out the color that it's supposed to. Anyway, I proceeded to dye my black hair and this is how it turned out:

Often times when I say to people "I'm craving Pho" I usually don't actually crave for the noodle soup itself, but it's everything else that is offered at a Pho Restaurant that I go for.

So, if you're looking for a good Pho Restaurant in Toronto, here are a few of my recommendations...and places that people should never eat at due to poor quality and service!

My most favourite place to go:

__Pho Mi Viet Hoa

Medium size bowl of Pho (broth is clear and flavourful)

Rice dishes are always LOADED with lots of rice and meat & comes with side of soup!

Banh Cuon Cha Lua (Rice Flour Rolls) made fresh to order!

Overall, great portions, excellent service and the food quality is simply amazing! Prices are also very decent and cheap for good quality! I've been here way too many times and it's always for the amazing service and the faboulous food. I also recommend trying their Sinh To (smoothies) either Avocado or Durian (if you can stand the smell)!

__Pho Mi Nha Trang

Small bowl of Pho Dac Biet - clear broth and also generous amounts of rare beef

Banh Cuon Cha Lua (rice flour rolls) served with Vietnamese cold cuts and nuoc mam

Rice dish w/ Pork, Chicken and shrimp bean curd. What I liked about this dish was the way they marinated the meat - lots of flavour and lemongrass (but smaller portion of rice)

Bun w/ Cha Gio, Bi, Thit Nuong (Spring Roll, Shredded Pork and Sliced Pork) - lots of veggies and vermicelli

Owned by a friendly Vietnamese lady, this place serves just about everything you can find in other restaurants. The difference is that the food is definitely more flavourful and has lots of spices. Give it a try and maybe you'll like it too!

I don't really go to this place anymore (because I feel like the food is lacking) but they still serve decent Pho. You'll find that their rice dishes are small in portion size and the meat is somewhat bland, also the veggies didn't look appetizing. Therefore I only recommend the Pho here because the soup broth is savoury (but with a lot of fat).

** NOT RECOMMENDED **

Pho had lots of fat and was very salty in taste.

Rice was dry and the egg patty was flavour-less.

Shredded pork tasted stale and the vermicelli was in thin bits and pieces as opposed to long strands.

I had visited this restaurant with my uncle cause he wanted to try it out. But with having tasted all three dishes I would never come back again. The food is just horrible. Lacks flavour, marinades and everything was dry and cold when we got our food. Service was also bad altogether. I DO NOT recommend going here for those reasons.

Other Recommendations (not reviews)

- Pho Ai My (Chinatown)

I tried their Hu Tieu My Tho Kho (Dry Glass Noodles) and I enjoyed it very much, and my friend said the Pho was good too. Since I've only been once I can't really say whether other dishes were good or bad.

- Pho Com Vietnam (Jane & Finch)

Didn't like how small the pork chop was and the shredded pork was dry and bland. You may give this place a try but I wouldn't recommend the rice dish.

Places that I definitely do not recommend eating at are:

- Com Tam Dao Vien (Peach Garden - food is expensive and quality is bad)
- Pho Mi Asia (food quality and service has gone down since it first opened)
- Pho 88 (Chinatown - food is dry and lacks flavour)
- Pho Xe Lua (Chinatown - PLEASE only go there if you're drunk and just left the club)
- Pho Linh (very unsanitary and unclean)

Avocado Salad with Japanese style dressing

Without the dressing

With dressing

You will need:

Iceberg lettuce (diced)
1 Avocado (sliced or diced)
Cucumber (sliced)
AND/OR Tomatoes (diced)
Masago - Fish Eggs

Dressing
1 tbs rice vinegar
2 tbs vegetable oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
pinch of salt and pepper

To create the dressing, just combine all the ingredients and mix well.
Personally, I like the dressing chilled and with a hint of lemon juice, so you can also give that a try too!

Now, in a bowl combine lettuce and vegetables together with the dressing, topping it off with the avocado and garnish with fish eggs. Bon appetit!

59. Summer movies.

Being a univ student, I'm kinda cheap when it comes to going to the movies. What I mean by that is I only believe in going to the theatres if it's worth the money I'm paying. The last two movies I've seen were both worth it (and I'm definitely going back to see them again!).

First up is my favourite movie in 3D: Despicable Me!
Isn't Agnes the most cutest thing ever? Who wouldn't want to adopt her?! I would in a heartbeat! ♥ In a nutshell, the movie is basically about a villain (Gru) voice by Steve Carell; who is competing with another new villian in town (Vector) voice by Jason Segel. Throughout Gru's scheme to steal the moon, he encounters three orphans who he adopts for various reasons. The plot is somewhat typical but very funny in its own way. I don't wanna give anything else away so I do recommend you see it for yourself! I'm taking my cousin to go see it tomorrow, which will be my second time! :D

Agnes! LOVELOVELOVEEE HER! ♥

Another movie that I would definitely recommend EVERYONE go see (if they haven't yet...where have you been living?! Under a rock?!) is INCEPTION!
With big name actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Ellen Page & my new fav actor Cillian Murphy, this movie is definitely the top movie of the summer! It's an action thriller that will leave you mind f**cked. Literally. You'll be left wondering whether what you watched was a dream or reality. The cinematography was amazing and worth watching in theaters...again and again and again! Not to mention the sound effects and suspenseful music that keeps you on the edge of your seat at every scene!

58. Craving Pork Bone Soup? (Gamjatang)

First off, I'd like to apologize for the lack of updating! Nothing exciting has happened lately so I didn't see a need for blogging. I figured I should get back into doing some reviews and recommend some good food places for everyone who still checks my blog on a regular basis (thank you guys!).

So for those of you who LOVE korean food like I do...or to be more specific, Gamjatang (pork bone soup), you'd be willing to try any place and compare it!

Below are different restaurants that serve gamjatang:

1. The Owl of Minerva (open 24 hours - Yonge St. location)

The Gamjatang (감자탕) here always comes hot and sizzling, made quick to order and fresh. In korean "gamjatang" means potato soup, therefore you should always expect to have potatoes in it! At only $6.99, the soup comes in a stone pot with a bowl of rice and other side dishes (cucumbers, radish and kimchi). You can't go wrong!
What I like about this place is the soup isn't too spicy and the portion size is just enough to fill you up.

Don't like gamjatang? Try this: Beef ribs! At $8.99 this hot plate of beef ribs is marinated in korean style sauces (sweet and savoury) also comes with a bowl of rice.

2. Paldo Gangsan (Korea Town - Bloor St. & Christie)

I've only been here once late at night and to my surprise, the place was quite busy! I ordered the gamjatang to see how this place compared to others and I highly recommend everyone give it a try. As usual, the soup came hot and bubbling, generous portions of pork bones and lots of vegetables. The side dishes were simply worth getting refills! The price? At $5.99 that's a deal!

3. Joons (Yonge & Sheppard)

A while back, my friend Melvin & I decided to try this place. We both ordered gamjatang and to our surprise, there was no potatoes in it! Ironic, cause it's supposed to be potato soup. Anyway, I didn't really like their gamjatang because it was somewhat bland and flavour-less. On the plus side, I really liked the side dishes - sweet potato salad was the best! But at $7, you're better off going to The Owl.

4. Toong (Yonge & Finch)

I don't recommend getting the gamjatang here! It wasn't as good as the others that I've tried - the only bonus is they're open late and a good place to go for drinks or appetizers.

57. Time is ticking.

There's about a month left until school starts again... I'm still wondering how I wanna spend those last few weeks. Definitely feel like I should start packing soon. I have to wait and see when the landlord will allow us to move our stuff in/start staying there. Hopefully things will be all figured out soon.

I should really start working on my VSA Sponsorship Package cause that would mean the earlier I can show it to some of the big guys and get some money going for our club! I'm excited for a lot of the new events we're going to have this upcoming year along with collabs from other UVSAs =)

If you haven't already heard, this year I'm the VSA president at Guelph, and UVSA co-marketing director. Shall be interesting! So I look forward to seeing and meeting a lot of you people this upcoming semester!

As most of you already know, the other night was the UVSA formal! (refer to post below) LOL. It was a TON of fun! Reminded me so much of high school semi/prom but that's besides the point. It was definitely good to see some old faces and also new ones! I wonder why I was never a part of these things in the first place, the viet organizations in Toronto are quite big so there's always events *looks into it* Haha. On a more serious note, I just want to address the fact that it might be summer but I know a lot of people are struggling with something, an issue, an emotion or uncertainty (a frequent issue of mine). I know I'll sound pretty generic when I say things like: "don't worry about it" or "make the best out of things". But trust me, I mean it. Cause life is short, time doesn't wait for anyone it just passes by. Make use of it - or try to. This weather won't be around for long. I remember a few years back I wished I was old enough to drink, old enough to sign my own papers, old enough to go to casinos in the states, old enough to drive and everything else that comes with age. Right about now I kind of wished I wasn't 21. It's like I know that responsibilities are going to come crashing in, expectations and all that other crap. You know what though? That's life. It happens. So maybe it's just me being paranoid or whatever but I hope it won't bother me too much, cause I'm still a kid at heart in some ways. Although I or other people might not be stressed about the same issues but everyone is fighting their own battle. My point is, with that having been said I hope that everyone cherishes what they have at the moment because tomorrow it might not be there anymore. Yes, make the best of things, smile more whenever you can; from the heart. ♥ Enjoy life to the fullest, rules were meant to be broken, a risk isn't a risk until you take it, defy the norm (or gravity), reach for the stars cause the sky is not the limit. I also want to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate everyone that's still here for me, it really means a lot and no matter what I'll always be there for you too. And to the new friends that I've made - believe me - I'm grateful to have met you all and hope to see you around more often ;) /rant

52. rants about random things (as usual)

It hasn't really dawned on me until the other night, most my friends have now all graduated and some are leaving forever. I think back to first year (or second) when I first met some of these people and now they're all off starting their careers, lives and etc. elsewhere. What I've learned all these years is to value what you have in front of you cause yes, one day it'll be gone. Don't take anyone or anything for granted, appreciate those around you. Knowing that I'll probably never see these friends again is quite depressing, really. No matter what though, I wish you guys all the best in your future endeavours and good luck with whatever life throws at you! ♥ :)

Last week I finally got around to watching Toy Story 3 in 3D! It was so touching. A kids movie depicting a grown up's feelings. For me at least. Basically it's a story of growing up moving on and reminiscing of childhood days. HIGHLY recommend everyone going to see it, worth every penny!

During the week myself, Simon, Kim & Cuong tried this place. It is pretty far west from Vaughan but I definitely recommend going here! We went on a Wednesday so the place was pretty deserted. Service was very prompt, the waitresses were VERY polite. Drinks were not included in the menu so we just ordered tea and water and beer (domestic beer was CHEAP @ 2.95 a bottle, Sapporo was only $4.95).

For green salads, seaweed salad and a few dessert items (vanilla pudding, cream puffs and fruits + jello) it was located at a small salad bar near the kitchen - self serve.

Salmon Sashimi was FRESH and THICK :D Fried Calamri and tempura shrimp was also freshly fried, very flavourful and crispy! It wasn't stale or tasted like old oil

HIGHLY recommend the Sushi City roll *right*. Philly roll and Soft Shell Crab Roll was just as good!

Beef tataki! Fresh smoked beef w/ ponzu sauce!

Dessert to cleanse the palatte! (I'm not sure if they had ice cream or not cause it wasn't on the menu, but if you go try asking them!)

I met up with my dad today. Probably won't see him until after 2 months cause he's leaving for Vietnam tomorrow and I'll be attending my cousin's high school grad! Anyways, my dad brought out some OLD SCHOOL photos of my sister and I that he keeps around. It's funny because this is a side of my dad I never knew... it's like he secretly misses us. Wow... how interesting. Also, the fact that he STILL gloats about how my sister and I are in univ... bah. Back to my point, here are some photos from when I was (who knows how old, only my mom could tell) LOL. Don't laugh!

Recently I've figured that I need a new bag... I dunno if I want like a swingpack or like hand bag. I'm one of those people that feel like it's necessary to carry EVERYTHING. LOL. The usual: camera, cell phone, wallet/wristlet, mirror, hand cream, lip balm, random pens and paper, gum and whatnot so sometimes my bag is a huge mess T_T" Should probably find a bag that's like SMALL so I don't LOAD it. AHAHAHA XD

I can't believe that it's July already. Seriously. What the hell happened to June? It felt so short and pointless... kind of. Time flies. It really does. It's pretty depressing. A few things are coming up this month and I do quite look forward to them. I'm volunteering at this Vietnamese Association BBQ thing at this park near my house on the 4th, so that shall be interesting. Definitely will be seeing familiar faces from the VSAs and people I know. On the plus side: FREE FOOD! =) Then the following weekend is the VSA Joint Formal... hmmmm, what to wear? =P

Anddd that's probably all I can think of to write atm. I SHOULD really sleep early tonight *sigh* fix this damn sleeping pattern.

OH and PORTUGAL vs. SPAIN TODAY!!! I made a bet with Bradley... bj ftw! Oh you know what I'm referring too ;] bahahaha

If only life was like the game Monopoly, where you're handed fake money, characters to play with and the opportunity to bail out of jail with a simple "Get out of Jail" card. Sadly for us, reality doesn't work that way. Therefore we must work for what we want. Money isn't handed to you, it's hard earned. The person you are isn't decided and neither is your path (by rolling a dice). Man... I hate when I have to think about things. Back to my point, our houses, properties aren't easy to obtain and heck we don't even get $200 when we pass GO! (LOL that would be sweet). Can you tell where I'm getting at now? I wonder what kids assume/think when they play these games. Do they really think that life is as easy as rolling that dice?

Monday... someone special came down to see me! I won't tell you who that special someone is, so you're gonna have to figure it out on your own ;) but what I will say is that special someone is mine ^_^ and I couldn't be happier ♥ ♥ you're really something else kh! The other day I was downtown and I saw this girl wearing a dress that looked really cute... so now I'm going to go look for it! (terrible idea cause it could've been from anywhere but it's worth a try) =D

Where to start...

I must say it's been a very interesting summer. (Still hate the fact that it's so hard to find a job!) Despite that, there's a lot of ups and downs... probably more ups :)

Before I get lost in thought and everything, I'll take this time to wish my dad (and perhaps my uncle and stepdad) a Happy Father's Day. Growing up I never really had a father to look up to... and especially cause I'm a girl I was more attached to my mom. I don't hate my dad or anything for what happened, I'm also too mature to throw tantrums at him too so for today I'll give him the benefit of still sticking around til this day, no matter shitty he is. My uncle has been somewhat of a father to me these past years and I thank him for that. As for my stepdad...well things used to be good and I used to appreciate him for the stuff he's done, so here's to you.

For the past 2 weeks my mom has been in Vietnam on vacation and I'm happy for her that she's finally able to go away and enjoy herself for a bit... but shit, my sis & I are dying slowly... LOL we're so used to having her cook and clean for us that now that she's gone we're left with all this responsibility! I'm not complaining but it's definitely a big change. Therefore what we do now is go grocery shopping ourselves and cook dinner whenever we are home... ahahaha :P Then my dad is leaving at the end of this month too... blargh :(

That aside, I've never been more excited/anxious about a Monday. The reason for that is because a special someone is taking his time to come all the way down to see me :) Let say a good 4-5 hour drive away :P I really have no words to express how grateful/loved I feel! Sometimes the best things can't be described in words huh? ♥ I definitely look forward to the beginning of the week! ^_^" It's going to be interesting :)

The MTV Movie Awards 2010 was today, I hardly ever watch TV or any of these award shows anymore but I figured since I wasn't doing much today might as well see what's new.

I must say it never lacks humour, yet what really disappointed me was how the whole fucking show revolved around Twilight. Like, seriously? Really? It's so fucking disgusting to always hear of "team Jacob, or team Edward"! I have never once read Twilight or even seen any of their movies and I REFUSE to! It's so annoying to see/hear about Robert Pattinson *puke* :P

I really need to get out of this mindset sometimes... I always seem to think that everyone around me is lying to me. Maybe it's because I'm scared that they actually are. I can't change the way I think when it comes to the things people tell me. I find it so difficult to believe someone, no matter how important or not something is.
How can I see differently? *sighs*

Maybe, just maybe it's because of this wall I've built. Maybe it's perhaps the experiences I've come across or just the people I learn to trust and know - those who always end up disappointing me and telling me lies.

So negative... I should probably open my heart up more and just trust, but I've done that before, to the point where I've gotten hurt. Can you see the dilemma here?

On a less depressing note, I really enjoy roller blading I wonder why it never occurred to me to try it. I think it'll be the next best thing to riding a bike. I feel like blading when I'm happy, or even when I'm sad... just to feel the adrenaline or the rush of the wind against my face... or just pushing really hard to get up a hill. Hehe :) that'll be my goal this summer, to get better at blading! ♥

33. It's snowing, in May... really?!

It's been SO long since I've written an entry. I guess the reason why I don't do it so often anymore is because I get lazy or there isn't a lot to write about... anyways, this past weekend the weather was HORRIBLE! It was like, winter all over again. Not only that I was away in Ottawa :( what a weekend!

To recap the things that happened since I last blogged:

1. 21st Birthday party: lots of fun! Happy I got to see everyone ! xoxo

3. Rock Climbing with SL, MK, KD and CYL.
4. Dim Sum & Karaoke with LP, BT, and JN.
5. The Falls + Nightmares with LP, KD, KT.
6. Ottawa with aunt & uncle with special guest KH.

Along with many other little excursions in between :) (Photos below!!!)

My 21st birthday was fun, I rented out a snazzy hotel downtown and was very happy with the service! Although I didn't drink as much as I thought I would it was quite interesting altogether! Diana got REAL drunk and puked all over Simon's shoes = good story to tell! I didn't even sleep the whole night but stayed up to watch the sunrise! :) Was very pretty up on the 24th floor. Anyhow, I would like to thank everyone for coming out & those who thought of me and got me gifts! You REALLY shouldn't have! <3

A week after my birthday were my final exams and those went well! So immediately after that I went back home and just kinda chilled out, moving stuff back making sure that everything was out by April 30th. Within that time I managed to check out this new Japanese themed restaurant - Guu Izakaya on Church st. & McGill, to see what all the hype was about. It was actually a lot of fun! I've heard that a few people did end up waiting 1-2 hours in line before getting in, but lucky for my friend & I our wait was only 10 mins, I think that's also because of the party size (2). When you first enter everyone of the servers looks at you and greets you with a friendly Japanese chant with shouts and warm smiles! It's amazing. They then seat you to one of the bench tables, and yes, you will be put beside randoms so for those who like their space, I wouldn't recommend coming here! Haha. The whole experience is really interesting but don't come on an empty stomach because it's mostly appetizers and drinks. Best to go in big groups or 4+! Overall, I'm quite glad to have tried it out!

Another thing that I've recently tried (am now addicted to doing it!) is Rock Climbing! It's such a great workout, using your whole body and strength to keep going up the rocks is quite exhilarating! How it works is at first you make a reservation so that they know when to expect you and give you climbing/belaying lessons. It takes about 30-45 mins to teach you how to climb properly and help your partner by belaying. For first timers, it costs $35 a lesson, then you get to climb for as long as you wish! We did this from 3-6pm and boy were my hands all blistered up! I did burn a lot of calories and sweat though :D Anyways, I recommend that everyone try this out if you can cause it's definitely a lot of fun and you can improve teamwork skills! Hahaha hopefully you don't leave your friend hanging at the top ;)

Yesterday, I got back from a weekend in Ottawa! I tagged along with my aunt & uncle's family. My aunt wanted to go to the Tulip Festival there so I figured I'd go and see what it's all about! We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn and the place was amazing! Our 2 Queen bed room was SO SPACIOUS! Full with kitchenette and all that jazz :) On Saturday, I was TOO TIRED from pulling an all nighter the night before (in Niagara Falls, where I fell down a flight of stairs in Nightmares!) so I ended up sleeping when my cousins were out. LMAO! Missed the festival, OH WELL :P At night I met up with my friend Kevin, we walked around Ottawa where he showed me the uOtt campus and the surrounding areas, they have a sketchy walkway/underpass. I wonder how many people have been raped there before?! o_O" LOL jkjk. The canal was quite beautiful at night, if it wasn't so cold I would've walked along it a lil more~ Anyways, we ended up walking to the Byward Market area and settled at an upscale bar/lounge called "The Cornerstone" great view from the window booth! Had a few drinks + shots along with poutine and wings. Not bad at all! It would've been a good place to chill if you're looking for something diff than clubbing =) Afterwards I got to check out Rideau st, which was very live still @ 2am! Lots of pubs and bars and drunk people! The next morning I woke up and headed downstairs of the hotel and had their continental breakfast: it sucked and they were too slow on refilling the food T_T" that's all I'll say about that. We checked out and proceeded to the Royal Canadian Mint! It's a short interesting tour of where they make coins and money along with Olympic Medals! Not bad, I had thought it was gonna be boring, but I was wrong! For a cheap price of $3.50 a person it's worth the experience :)

You know how when you were younger, people always asked you "what do you want to be when you grow up?" well, guess what? I still don't know. What I do know is that I AM grown up! I'm turning 21. My mom is always in disbelief every year when it comes to my birthday, the fact that I'm getting old not only scares me, but it also scares her. Time flies way too fast. It was only last year that I was excited to finally be 20... now 21? Wow. So let me take this time, to look back at everything that happened *looks back* okay, now I'm ready to move on to the future... and hope that bigger and better things will happen :)

Thank you to everyone who is still sticking around! I'm very excited to be seeing everyone soon! You guys & girls are the people who keep me sane (or insane sometimes), the ones I can call at 3am, those I know I can always borrow a shoulder to lean on, those who I rant and rave to while playing mj or poker (you know it!), and especially those who help me pull through with whatever even when I want to give up. AMAZING. Simply amazing.
I would have not known how fun and rewarding the experience had been if I had given up half way. It wasn't the most smooth sailing few weeks of practices and no shows and drop outs, but I must admit in the end I am very proud of myself, and of course my teammates! Thank you so much everyone for pulling through and doing it til the end! Guelphies you guys are awesome! <3 Can't wait to see what happens next year...VSA president? Hell ya!

...ON another note, this past weekend I've only gotten about 5-6 hours of sleep IN TOTAL! It's a Wednesday afternoon. One day in the week where I look forward to a calm relaxing day, yet I don't feel anything of that sort. I waited in the office today, for 15 mins just to find that no one was going to show up. What the fuck? Seriously.

That aside, the weather today is messing with us again. Just like life always fucks with you (I know, I'm so bitter right now). *sighs* must learn to not let things affect me too easily...

Lately I've been semi-busy with some stuff but clearly not busy enough. Ignite is coming up next weekend and we still got a lot of rehearsing to do. Two midterms the week after + labs and quizzes to complete. I know it's still early to be thinking about this, but I'm turning 21 on April 7th. Doesn't sound like a big deal... but I'm freaking out a little. I'm not young anymore, 21 is where your age starts increasing at a faster rate than anticipated (at least that's how I feel). I've also started to plan my birthday party event, the date seems to work for me cause I only have 2 final exams on A16th&17th, can't say the same about my friends =/

Only a few more weeks of school left... blah.

(8) FEELING SO FLY LIKE A-LIKE A G6 (8)

With all the hype from last night you'd expect me to sit at home and chill right? Wrong. Didn't get much sleep all last night, and around 12 in the afternoon went to yum cha with friends. From there I went to Pmall and met up with Dennis, we saw DEAR JOHN and it was just the most touching storyline ever. Great storyline twists and turns, definitely worth watching! After the movie I was hoping to make cupcakes in time for V-day tomorrow, and lo and behold, I DID! They look so darn cute :) So proud. Hah. Just got to find a cute box to box it in tomorrow!

Then on Monday I'm looking forward to going to the Autoshow & Panorama! Should be a very interesting day... that and I think I have to squish a family dinner in too, boo. OH well fam is fam.

I'm exhausted right now, the next two days are going to be event more eventful, thus need as much sleep as I can get. Hope everyone is enjoying their reading week!

Christmas break has been very interesting. A lot has been happening lately, and maybe once I feel like I should slow down. I never refuse/turn down an opportunity to do something, to go somewhere, to be with whoever. These last few days have changed me in a sense that maybe I should just accept who I am and move on with it. I like doing crazy shit, and I won't let anyone stop me (unless well... you know that it's dangerous etc.) haha. Getting my marks back this semester was a highlight of the holidays! I was so proud of myself and my accomplishments. I know I worked hard and I'm happy it paid off :)

On another note, there's only less than 2 weeks left til school starts again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this semester will end with a BANG! I'm going to work twice as hard and party twice as harder ;) Lmao. Oh me. I hope everyone's also enjoying their time with friends and family, enjoy it while you can! :)

"The Proposal" w/ Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds

This movie was so close to home. I cried so much in most scenes near the beginning. Oh so emotional me. I gotta say even though this was a predictable movie, I thought it was amazing and the comedy & chemistry of the two is awesome! Really see this for yourself :)
Today was rather eventful, Victor & I went grocery shopping for dinner this week and we're having steak tomorrow night. As for tonight's dinner we cooked up a yummy salmon fillet with some spinach for veggies, I love cooking! :)

Lately I've been thinking about the various things I can write about in my blog, cause I honestly have a lot to say. But every time I start writing I lose that feeling, that need to let out. Weird. On the plus side of things, I'm looking forward to Christmas break and along with the many events to come! Especially receiving my gift from HL, an awesome Pink Blackberry Bold that is personalized! With swarowski crystals with my name on it =D! So awesome!

Can't wait to spend time with family! (: I really miss all my friends too, I hope I get to see everyone soon! Almost over! 1 exam to go! ^_^"

It snowed today! Not only that, it was also freezing as hell and when I left the house to run to the Mall and grab Victor's present, I slipped on ice and fell on both knees and scraped them! *OW* That was unpleasant. Grrr.

Last night Kevin & Nic came over for pizza and wings while we watched Red, White & Brown. It was my first time watching it and boy was it hilarious! Love Russell Peters :D that led to us watching some MadTv with "Bon Qui Qui" LOL. fun times!

Anyways, gotta get back to studying for this HRM final tomorrow. Most likely pulling an all nighter to cram in all the chapters. Wish me luck! :) Then wings w/ Peter afterwards at Bobbys!

Yesterday: Went to a conference @ the Hilton Hotel in Markham w/ Eric & Rachael. Winalite presentation and I signed on as a starting member. Got Eric to do a quick demo in front of the fam, and some seem enthusiastic others not so much. Hopefully this side project won't turn into a flop =) After that got a ride back to Guelph where I met up with Nick, Kevin, Rhonda & Lien for sushi @ Hockey. Also met Sally and her housemates there too. Had a good dinner! Following that was some poker with the guys & girls ;) won back 3/4 of my dinner!

This weekend has been eventful. I knew exactly what was going to happen, but I didn't expect things to go so smoothly. I guess the reason for this is because throughout the last 3 years I've grown with everything I've learned and had to deal with. Maybe that's why things ended on a civil note. I can confidently say that I've matured over this time.

To re-cap the happenings of this weekend, I'm going to start with Friday afternoon: Wine tasting lab was fun yet again, this time I agreed to 'drink' it instead of dumping it. Shortly after I met up with friends to head downtown to Palace where most the night took place, good times :)
The partying didn't stop there, Saturday afternoon my friend came to pick me and 3 other people from Guelph and drove to Waterloo for hot pot dinner then a house party. Met some interesting people along with seeing old faces. I knew that a friend of mine was also having a party (who happened to be across from my friend's apartment) so out of courtesy I went over to say 'hi'. Little did I know that the girl who I got into a lot of verbal fights with -from back in first year- was hosting her birthday party there. My friend suggested that I'd leave because it would look like my initial intentions were to cause trouble, or, as the guys kept rumouring "there to fight her". Thus, I left and went back to our party. Then the night gets interesting. Why? Because birthday girl who was drunk decides that she couldn't stay calm and wanted to come over and start a fight (due to the false rumours that were being spreaded). One of her friends managed to calm her down so I could talk to her without any physical threats. After 3 years of not bringing any of this beef up, we finally put it to a rest. I gave her the closure she wanted, we agreed by shaking hands and leave it at being strangers. While we were trying to figure out our own shit, I heard that some boys were disappointed that a fight didn't break out, so they took a joke to another level. Very immature. Boys LOVE to see a cat fight, they want to see bras being ripped off, hair being pulled and faces being scratched. Sorry boys, you're not getting that pleasure.
Overall, it was an eventful weekend, that little issue hardly put a dent in my night. I know that there are so many people out there that are worth my time, so these things shouldn't effect me in the slightest bit. I want to thank everyone who stuck around with me, to make sure I knew what I was doing (the right things) and to those who didn't take sides. <3
Sunday ended off with a sushi lunch, coming home to a little puppy who my dad offered to give us (she's a cutie) and finishing my econ lab quiz. Good times. Hopefully this week will be better :)

As I'm waiting for my episode of True Blood to load I thought I might as well update to re-cap the weekend :)

This weekend I went back home to Toronto for a few events. Saturday: I met up with a friend downtown for Dim Sum (oh how I miss you so!) followed by some shopping @ the Eaton Centre. Instead of going to the TIFF and seeing Jennifer's Body, we saw '9' which I bet was equally enjoyable. For those who aren't sure what the movie 9 is about, the plot is based on a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is destroyed and the only things left on earth are doll-like characters whose existence is to fight against the evil machines who destroyed the world. It sounds like any other movie but this one is especially cute and the animation is amazing! I recommend it being watched in theaters :)

Later at night, I joined my sister and some friends for dinner @ Chako (again, yes I know). The occasion was to celebrate her 19th birthday -091409- where I had to give her an age appropriate gift; two bottles of alchy and a birthday card telling her to fully live the life of a true university student (aren't I the most awesome-est sister ever? Hah!) It was an interesting and fun night, although it didn't end until around 4am when someone finally lost in poker and I got to go home and sleep!!! :P

Sunday: family day. My morning was dedicated to sleeping in... never really happened, sooo... I just proceeded to pack up my things before heading over to my uncle's place. As usual they stuffed us with chinese food and the likes before dropping me off in Guelph.

That pretty much sums up my weekend, didn't sound too exciting but I had a good time :) this week is going to be quite chill, got some stuff to look forward to. I should probably head to bed soon since morning classes are always my weakness! I leave you with a rant of the mtv vma. Toodles!~

As some of you know, today was the MTV VMAS 2009. I remember back in the day when I was always hyped to see these award shows on TV and see what my favourite celebs were up to. Now because we don't have cable here I had to result to internet streaming, but honestly, who needs that when you have Twitter and Facebook? People are constantly updating live feeds and tweets to the point where whatever the story was, you'd get the 411 on it ASAP. And what do you do when you hear crazy shit go down? You YouTube it! Which is exactly what I did. My thoughts? Kanye is a f*****g idiot! I have no respect for him for what he did to Taylor Swift. I'm ashamed I listened to his music. That was no way to convey himself.

One word, two syllables, (can you guess what it is?) O-SAP.
The most dreadful word during the first week of school, why? The reason for this is because of the uber long line ups. I was in line for the first part for half an hour, the other half was spent waiting for the form to be filled out with banking info (that only takes 2 mins)! I guess this is the work they make you go through in return to giving you $13K, or me in this case. Hah! Shortly after that I passed by the cannon where they were giving out free orange sherbet/vanilla ice cream... sounds yummy right? No. It was disgusting, one lick and I threw that crap away.

Anyway, today was a nice day so campus was full of interesting things. Koodo was promoting along with credit card companies giving out freebies and of course the awesome free agendas. Haven't seen this many people on campus all at once in so long. funfunfun. Along with everything else, I had my first lecture today. The course is Human Resource Management with a cute Indian prof who's 5 months preggers. She makes the course look fun, lets hope it is :)
